Nhan

Nhan was born to a poor family in the countryside of southeast Vietnam. Her father left the family before she was born and soon afterward her mother also left, leaving four children behind. The children were cared for by their grandmother until she passed away when Nhan was in the third grade. In 2011, Nhan was sent to the provincial Social Welfare Center. Now, 8 years later, she is a freshman majoring in Travel and Tourism at a regional-level university.

“The staff at the Center brought me up, took good care of me and made it possible for me to go to school. I am very grateful to the Center and all who have helped me through these years. Now, I only want to finish my studies at university so that I can have a stable job in the future. I want to be able to help my family and other children like me. This is my biggest dream.”
