Anna was born on May 30, 2006. She was abandoned at the local children’s hospital and a month later taken to the local orphanage. When Anna arrived at New Day on August 25, 2006, we all thought she was one month old. Because of her small size, we were surprised to find out she was already three months old. Anna was diagnosed with a VSD of 6.5mm and a patent foramen ovale, but her biggest challenge of all was the fact that she was so small and emaciated. With a lot of TLC and some excellent nutritional interventions, Anna gained weight and began growing. And, her heart healed without surgery! Now Anna is a busy and active toddler with bouncy pig-tails! We look forward to the day when she is matched with her very own family, and we are thankful we had the opportunity to give her a new chance at life.
