Lena

BIRTHDAY:   July 12, 2004

Lena was born on July 12, 2004. That same day, she was abandoned in the yard of a local church. Lena was in our foster care project in her home orphanage, but due to changes in her foster family’s situation, was moved back to the orphanage. We know the multiple transitions have been difficult for her, and we’re thankful we can now provide her the security and permanency she needs. Lena is unable to speak, but she can understand what others say to her. She has not been officially diagnosed with any disorders or mutism, so while she will undergo further testing, we suspect that her inability to speak could be due to institutionalization and childhood trauma. As we better understand her needs, we look forward to seeing Lena blossom in her new foster family.
