Juan

ARRIVAL:   Sept 4, 2008
DEPARTURE:   Sept 25, 2008

Juan has cleft lip, but she also has a minor heart abnormality. Although she doesn’t need surgery for the heart problem, the local hospital wouldn’t operate on her cleft lip because they were worried about the effects anesthesia would have on her heart. Therefore, they asked us to bring her to a more advanced hospital in Beijing to do the surgery.

Coming to New Day Healing Home for Treatment of her cleft lip, Juan’s surgery was successfully completed on September 16, 2008. Her recovery has gone smoothly, so she returned to her home orphanage on September 25, 2008, making her the first Healing Home child to graduate from our project!
