Chinese New Year is the biggest holiday of the year! Much like Christmas in the west, it is a time for families to gather and spend time together, eating many different traditional foods. It's no different at our foster home. All of the foster families came, and together with all of our nannies and staff, everyone helped the children learn to make jiaozi (dumplings). We had a feast that left everyone wanting naps, and then the children opened small gifts. All the girls got new hairbows and the boys received little cars. It was a wonderful day; everyone was happy to help the children create many happy memories of celebrating Chinese New Year.
