Principals

Neal Donop
Neal is from the state of Texas in the US. He graduated from Oral Roberts University with a Master’s of Arts degree in Education, specializing in ESL. He taught at ORU and at a private elementary school before moving to China in 1995.

He has been living and working in Beijing for a majority of the past fourteen years. He started as an English teacher in the English training center at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1995. While there He taught a variety of people who worked primarily in the fields of aeronautics and astronautics. He had some professors, airline officials, engineers, scientists and government officials in his classes.

In 1999 He joined New Day, and He has served as a member of the New Day Board since then. Neal founded and currently operates Legacy Charities, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, to assist with charitable projects in China. He helped to start the New Day Learning Center in the fall of 2004 and currently serves in the position of principal.

Neal enjoys a variety of sports and has played the drums since he was 12 years old. He also participates on the music team at the Beijing International Christian Fellowship.

Wu Chang Hong
Wu Chang Hong is from Sichuan province in South Central China. In 1986 she earned a bachelor's degree from the Sichuan Normal (Teacher’s) University, then attended a specialized oral English training program at Sichuan University. She graduated from the Central Art Academy with a Master’s of Arts degree in Art History. After graduating, she taught Chinese in a high school in her hometown before working as a librarian at the Gansu Dunhuang Research Institute.

She spent two more years teaching Chinese to international business representatives for the Foreign Service Corporation (FESCO). She also taught Chinese in a private home-school co-operative for primary and high school students.

In 1993 she and her husband Li Jun started the Beijing New Day Arts & Crafts Company (New Day Creations). From 2000 to 2004 she directed direct the New Day Community Center, which is now New Day Volunteer Services. In 2004 she helped found the New Day Learning Center and currently serves as the Chinese Principal and Board Chairwoman.

In 2003 she and her husband adopted their daughter Mia from the New Day Foster Home. Mia is now in first grade and loves art and fashion.
