Chenyang was born in April 2023 and has been diagnosed with Down syndrome, as well as a congenital heart condition. In September 2023, she underwent successful heart surgery in Beijing.
At first, Chenyang appeared timid and guarded in unfamiliar settings—lacking a sense of security and seldom initiating interaction with others. But love, patience, and acceptance helped her adjust quickly. Just three days after arriving at the foster family, her mom challenged her potential and encouraged her to try holding a spoon to eat. Within a week, Chenyang was feeding herself—sitting in her specially designed little chair, beaming with joy as she ate.
She has also made remarkable progress socially and emotionally. Her naturally cheerful and warm personality is emerging: she now greets her caregivers and peers willingly, participates enthusiastically in activities and group games, and wears a smile more often than not.
Chenyang has so much potential waiting to be uncovered. We look forward to watching her shine.
