Maya was born on October 25, 2011. She was born with an ENT defect and was abandoned at the gate of the local civil affairs bureau on October 29, 2011. She was bundled up warmly and there was a note and some cash left with her. The policeman searched for Maya’s parents, but they could not be located and Maya was brought to the local orphanage. She only weighed 3 kg at that time. Maya arrived at New Day Foster Home on February 9, 2012. She is alert and responsive; her beautiful brown eyes follow sounds and faces intently. Maya is able to hold her own bottle and play with toys on her own. She talks back when talked to and rewards any attention given to her with a huge, lovely smile. Maya is a little treasure, and a blessing to all who see her. When Maya was six months old it was discovered that she has an oncology disease. She will need surgery and chemotherapy. We look forward to the day when she is completely healthy and strong. Read her amazing story.
