Thi Dao

We are pleased to welcome Thi Dao and Ngoc Chi to our student sponsorship program. This sister and brother duo come from an ethnic minority group residing in a remote region of Vietnam’s Central Highlands.

Thi Dao and Ngoc Chi suffered much hardship in their early lives. Their abusive father left the family when the children were less than five years old. After several very difficult years of trying to care for her three children, their mother also left one night while the children were asleep, never to return. Thi Dao talks about how afraid she was and how much she cried when her mother left. Then, after living alone in a small wooden shack for the next couple of years, Thi Dao and Ngoc Chi were finally placed in the care of the local orphanage when they were around 10 years old.

Having successfully completed high school, they have now left the orphanage to attend a community college in another region. Thi Dao is studying veterinary medicine, and Ngoc Chi is studying automotive technology. Due to their age, they receive only limited support from the orphanage and now need assistance with their daily expenses. These young people have come a long way from their difficult beginnings, and we are very happy to offer support during this new season of their lives.
