Xiao Feng

Born in June 2014, Xiao Feng is currently a third grader facing more challenges than most children his age. At just eight months old, his parents went through a divorce, and his mother disappeared, never to be heard from again. His father works in Hohhot, leaving Xiao Feng in the care of his grandparents. Tragically, his grandfather lost his battle with lung cancer last year, leaving the family not only grieving but also burdened with significant debt from medical expenses.

With only a monthly welfare benefit of around $25 US dollars, Xiao Feng’s grandmother has taken on the responsibility of repaying the debt by tending to the family’s ten acres of land. This leaves Xiao Feng boarding at school during the week, only returning home on weekends to provide companionship and support to his grandmother. Despite the hardships he faces, Xiao Feng remains resilient and determined to help his family in any way he can.
