Xiaoying

Xiaoying is 13 years old this year and is in the fourth grade of elementary school. Because of her father’s incompetency and irresponsibility, her mother divorced him and left them after Xiaoying’s birth. Her grandparents raised Xiaoying with biscuits and sugar water. They barely hear from her father, who infrequently works and does not make any contribution to the family. Xiaoying usually lives at school, and on weekends, her grandpa drives a three-wheel cart to pick her up. Her grandparents are old and sick, and this family basically has no source of income.
