Xing

Xing is 13 years old this year and is in the first grade of junior high school. His mother passed away in 2014 due to heart failure caused by epilepsy, and his father died suddenly of myocardial infarction three years later. Growing up losing both parents and with poor communication skills, Xing has been taciturn, short-tempered, and rarely wants to talk with others. He is now being raised by his grandparents. His grandpa’s legs hurt giving him mobility issues. With an income of only $248 (1700 yuan) every month, they are only able to rent a small decrepit house in town. Xing’s needs are more than just physical, he needs hope of a future.
