Yuan

Yuan is 14 years old this year and is in junior high school. Her parents passed away in a car accident in 2019. She lives with her grandparents and aunt in a courtyard house built by her parents when they were alive. She has an older sister who is already in college and majoring in English with excellent grades. Her grandfather is over 70 and his health was not very good. All the school expenses and living expenses of the two children depends on a state orphan subsidy, about $248 (1,700 yuan) per month. Their life is very frugal but we saw their courtyard was tidy and clean. Yuan can cook and take care of some housework. She has a positive attitude and she studies hard in school and hopes she can be as successful as her older sister.
