Born in July 2016, Zi Xuan is an eight-year-old currently attending first grade. His father works in the village, while his mother, with a disability from a childhood injection injury, has limited function in her right arm. Zi Xuan’s grandfather, who is over eighty years old, is deaf, and his grandmother is paralyzed from a stroke. As the only able-bodied person in the family, Zi Xuan’s father shoulders the bulk of the responsibilities.
Despite her challenges, Zi Xuan’s mother manages to cook, clean, and care for his grandmother using her left hand. The family relies on the income from the sheep and cow they raise in their yard. Despite their hardships, Zi Xuan’s family remains resilient. We aim to offer them the support they need to thrive.
