Gabriel

Gabriel was born in October 2008. He was diagnosed with congenital blindness shortly after birth. Due to his blindness, he was introverted, fearful, and nonverbal. He would often curl up in the corner of his crib fearful to try new things. He had difficulty adapting to new environments. In July 2014, Gabriel joined the orphanage’s foster family project, for the first time he experienced the warmth of home and the love of his foster mother and father. In July 2022, because Gabriel’s foster family could no longer foster, Gabriel returned to the orphanage. Due to difficulty in adapting and bullying from the other children, the orphanage staff asked if he could join our Savannah project.

Since he was young Gabriel’s hearing has been exceptional. He can accurately tell who walks past him. In 2014, due to outstanding rhythm, listening and vocal skills, he began to study music. He made great progress in music, which opened his musical journey. It has not all been easy because of his blindness but he has persevered. In 2019, Gabriel participated in the program “Little Good Voice” where he met his saxophone teacher and began to learn to play the saxophone. It was a huge challenge for Gabriel but once again he persevered and after two years, he has become quite proficient at the saxophone. Gabriel’s initial love of music has developed into a persistent pursuit, moving step by step towards his musical dream. We look forward to helping him pursue his dream.
