Lin

Lin is 12 years old this year and is in the sixth grade of elementary school. Her father died in a landslide while working in 2020. Her mother has diabetes and has suffered a lot. Lin has had seizures since she was little. As time passes, the frequency of her seizures is increasing and the episodes last longer and longer. Her mother has to call the ambulance to take her to the hospital for treatment. She has been taking medicine to control her illness over the years, but they are less and less effective. The whole family relies on her older brother for support. They live in her uncle’s house, which is convenient for her mother to take care of her grandmother. Lin is studying at a local elementary school, and her mother usually walks her to school, and at the same time she picks up garbage to sell for money.
