Shanna Elise

BIRTHDAY:   January, 2006

Shanna Elise was born on January, 2006. She was abandoned at her hometown’s local orphanage on January 24, 2008. She was born deaf. An organization in Hong Kong arranged for her to have cochlear implants in both ears, and they asked us to provide her after-care in Beijing, where there is a clinic especially equipped to provide her the therapy and monitoring she needs. She arrived at our foster home on July 7, 2009. Shanna Elise is clearly a bright little girl who immediately started picking up on sign language! We’ve already seen signs of her vivid imagination, and we can’t wait for her to learn how to communicate so that we can see into her imagination a little more. She’s adjusting to a new world with sound, and we look forward to seeing her develop and grow.
