Thai suffers from a rare form of chronic leukemia. The good news is his condition can be treated with medication, but he will need to make regular trips to Ho Chi MInh City for checkups and medicine. The total cost (hospital, medicine and travel) is a bit over $100 USD a month, but this is far beyond his family’s ability to pay.
